Connect an AI assistant

Link ChatGPT, Claude or another AI assistant to your tripstant account. Once connected, you can ask it to look at your trips, create new ones and add packing items — it signs in as you, so it only ever sees your own data.

Your tripstant connection URL

Paste this URL into your assistant when it asks for a server or connector address. You will be asked to sign in to tripstant and approve access.

Set up your assistant

ChatGPT

Web
  1. 1Open ChatGPT settings → Apps → Advanced and turn on Developer mode (read the risk notice shown there). If you cannot switch it on, ask your ChatGPT admin.
  2. 2Open the new app dialog.
  3. 3Enter tripstant as the name and paste the connection URL above.
  4. 4Review the details, tick “I understand and want to continue” (ChatGPT shows this for every custom app), then click Create.
  5. 5Enable tripstant from the chat composer and ask it something like “show me my upcoming trips”.

Claude

Web & desktop
  1. 1Open the prefilled custom connector dialog in Claude.
  2. 2Review the name and URL, then click Add.
  3. 3If the dialog does not open, go to Claude’s Connectors page, choose Add custom connector, name it tripstant and paste the connection URL above.
  4. 4Enable the connector from the chat composer and ask Claude to use tripstant.

Claude Code

Terminal

Run this one line in a terminal — there is nothing else to configure.

  1. 1Run the command above in a terminal.
  2. 2Start Claude Code and run /mcp to confirm tripstant is connected, then sign in from that menu when prompted.
  3. 3Ask Claude Code to use tripstant.

Other AI assistants

Any MCP client
  1. 1Open your assistant’s server or custom connector settings.
  2. 2Create a new remote connection.
  3. 3Name it tripstant and paste the connection URL above.
  4. 4Finish the tripstant sign-in and approval prompts.
  5. 5Enable the connection, then ask the assistant to use tripstant.

Refresh after a tripstant update

Assistants remember what tripstant could do when you connected. After we ship updates, refresh the connection so your assistant picks up the latest abilities.

ChatGPT

  1. 1Open ChatGPT’s Plugins page and select tripstant.
  2. 2Scroll to “Information” and click Refresh.
  3. 3ChatGPT cannot change an existing app’s URL — if the URL above changed, delete tripstant and add it again.
  4. 4Start a new chat and ask it to use tripstant.

Claude

  1. 1Open the Connectors page and select tripstant.
  2. 2Refresh or update the connector.
  3. 3Claude cannot change an existing connector’s URL — if it changed, remove the connector and add it again.
  4. 4Ask Claude to use tripstant.

Claude Code

  1. 1Start a new Claude Code session — it reloads tripstant on connect.
  2. 2If the URL changed, run claude mcp remove tripstant and run the install command again.
  3. 3Ask Claude Code to use tripstant.

Other AI assistants

  1. 1Open the assistant’s connector settings.
  2. 2Select the tripstant connection.
  3. 3Refresh, reload or reconnect it.
  4. 4If the URL changed, paste the latest one from above.
  5. 5Start a new chat and ask it to use tripstant.
